Christmas bows are used to adorn houses and a Christmas tree. They are even used as napkin rings. Here, we have given you tips to make Christmas bows with loops of ribbon and flat Christmas bows.

Christmas bows with loops of ribbon

  • First you need to determine size and make a loop in ribbon for the bottom of the bow
  • Now, you need to make another loop in the similar size by twisting ribbon on the opposite side
  • Twist the ribbon and make another small loop on top of the first loop
  • Make another similar size of loop by twisting ribbon on opposite side
  • Hold the center of Christmas bow with your index finger underneath. Wrap the ribbon over your thumb for making a small loop
  • You need to ensure that you continue to hold loops together
  • Cut end of Christmas ribbon making sure that tail is of the same size as on first side
  • Insert a ribbon and wrap it around bow by tying ends together through a small loop
  • For making Christmas bows look nice and clean, you only need to fluff out the loops as well as give it a puffer look

Flat Christmas Bows

  • To make flat Christmas bows, first you need to take ribbon and cut it twice as wide as you wish the bottom of bow to be
  • Overlap ends of the ribbon to form a loop
  • Now, you need to form the shape of 8 inch by pinching loops together. The center of loop needs to be stapled together and ensure that you catch overlapping ends of ribbon when stapling
  • Now, you need to make loops of the ribbon and remember that every loop must be small as compared to previous one
  • After this, you need to stack up the loops together by keeping the biggest loop on bottom and smallest loop on the top
  • Now, you need to make tail by cutting a ribbon piece longer than the big one.
  • Once placed all the loops on top of the tails, you need to staple all ribbons together in the middle
  • Now, you need to cut a short piece of ribbon to wrap across the centre of bow ensuring that staple is hidden
  • Finally, you need to glue ribbon ends together to form a flat Christmas bow
