Making paper Christmas tree ornaments:

Things you'll require

    Christmas Paper Ornament

  • Old magazines, newspapers or catalogs
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Procedure

  • Tear a page out of the magazine or newspaper. Fold it in half. Again, fold it in half for the second time.

  • Unfold the paper. Now a crease will be developed on the paper that divides the paper into 8 equal rectangles. Cut out these rectangles.

  • Make the rectangles into square pieces. Take 1 corner of each rectangle. Then fold the corner to the opposite side. The excess at the bottom of the triangle can be cut away.

  • Fold the triangle in half. Unfold it. A crease pattern will be developed. Then fold the paper in half. This makes a rectangle. Now, fold the paper in half to form a square shape.

  • Unfold the paper again. Fold it in half to make another rectangle shape. Then fold the 2 sides in to create 2 squares. Unfold 1 corner. This will form a triangle on 1 side. Fold the triangle across the middle. This gives rise to 2 triangles. Repeat the same procedure for the other side.

  • Pull out the flaps of the triangles on each side and level out the paper. Pull out the sides of the triangle. Fold the sides of the triangle flat to make a larger square on top of the smaller one.

  • Fold the flaps in on each square so that they meet in the center. Open the triangles and even them out. Fold the corners of the triangles back and then crease them.

  • Repeat the above steps with the other pieces of paper to create 6 more folded pieces.

  • Glue the corners of the pieces together to make a circle. Keep them for drying. The paper Christmas tree ornaments are ready to embellish your Christmas tree!

Making 3 D Paper Star:

Materials you'll require

  • Colored Paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • String

Procedure

Christmas Paper Ornaments

Make your own star pattern by simply drawing an equilateral triangle on a piece of paper. Then draw a circle around the triangle. With one side of the equilateral triangle that you have drawn, draw an isosceles triangle. This drawing should result in an end design that looks similar to an ice cream cone shape.

Make about 10 copies of similar pattern. Print the pattern to the wrong side of the paper (the side on the inside of the star). You can also draw the pattern. Now, you need to cut out all the cones.

Once you have cut all the cones, fold the edges on the cut pattern. Fold the 2 flaps. They should face towards the side of the paper that will be outside of the star.

Use 5 of the cones to form a single star shape. The glue should go on the side. This should give you a star shape that is inflated a little in the middle! Repeat the same procedure for the other 5 cones.

How To Make Paper Christmas Ornaments

Place the 2 stars wrong sides together and glue the isosceles triangles together to form a 3-D star. Allow the glue to dry completely and then with the help of string hang up your star at the top of the Christmas tree or wherever you wish!
