The festival of Christmas is the time of the year to enjoy with friends and family. People come together to welcome the festival. Christmas is greatly associated with the happiness, joy and hope in every person's life. Parties, feasts and family reunions are organized in Christmas. The homes are decorated with Christmas lights, Christmas tree and Christmas wreaths. The entire atmosphere is filled with music, carols and festive fervor. The traditions related to Christmas decoration differ from one nation to other. Christmas lights are an integral part of Christmas decoration. Christmas lights are available in different shapes, sizes and colors.
In this festival, lights play an important role. A big star is hanged on the main door of every Christian house during Christmas festive season. The real Christmas tree is decorated with Christmas lights. Today, we get to see pre lit artificial Christmas tree. The tree has all the lights on it. You just have to plug in to the adapter. The optical fiber Christmas tree too has lights. They look attractive and give a great glow on Christmas Eve. In olden days, candles were used for decoration. The Christmas tree too was decorated with candles. That was quite risky as fire could be easily caught. With the advent of lights, mini bulbs were used for decoration.
The entire world glitters in festive Christmas lights during Christmas. When electric bulbs were discovered, only there were used for decoration. But, today we see the use of LED lights, battery operated lights, solar energy lights and so on. The first string of small electric bulbs to be used as Christmas lights was created by Edward Johnson, a junior of Thomas Edison, who invented electric bulb. Edward used mini bulbs of red, white and blue color to prepare this Christmas light string. It was not popular at that time because it was a costly option. The common man could not afford it.
Later in the year 1903, electric bulbs were produced for masses in low cost and easy to use. Today, we see a trend of Led strings to be used as Christmas lights. Led lights save a lot of electricity. Hence, they are quite popular. Every day, new additions are made to this happening area of decorative lights. The multi colored Christmas lights are used to decorate window panes, doors, courtyard and Christmas tree. Christmas lights are available in both in indoor and outdoor types.
Christmas lights give the typical look through their color and glow to the festive season. The streets, lanes, highways, homes, trees, courtyards, etc. is decorated with lights to welcome the birth of Christ and give hope to every person. One cannot think about Christmas without the twinkling lights that glow and make the entire atmosphere bright. Christmas decoration is incomplete in absence of Christmas lights.
