Christmas cartoon movies are the favorites of all the children as well as their parents. These movies are very light hearted, generally funny or family oriented. These movies are very good to watch and depict the true Christmas spirit. They are made especially for the Christmas season and target the kids. These movies are short films (90 minutes) so that the kids don't get irritated of sitting at one place and not a lot of time is spent in watching movies. These are dubbed movies with the top notch actors' voices.

The best Christmas Cartoon movies / episodes are: -

  1. Frosty the Snowman: - This was a TV classic narrated by Jimmy Durante and was made in the year 1969. This was one of the most popular shows of Christmas in those times. Basically, Frosty the snowman is a song and the show too was very similar to that song, but the only change in this was there were two additions to it a) Santa Claus and b) Evil magician. This was a very emotional show too and most of the children and parents shed out tears every time they saw Frosty the snowman melting.

  2. Charlie Brown Christmas: - This was the first Christmas cartoon special released on TV. This was made in the year 1965. This was a very special series having very special characters which are remembered today as well. This is a movie which had a gang of Peanuts with a character of Linus. These episodes depicted true Christmas spirit.

  3. Santa Claus is Coming to town: - This is a movie which stars Mickey Rooney as Santa Claus. This movie is based on the carol, same as the name. This movie is considered as a classic. This is a movie which gives the details of how Santa Claus came to the town where elves lives, how he started giving away gifts during the Christmas season and how did he meet his better half, Mrs. Claus! This classic is narrated by Fred Astaire.

  4. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: - This is till date the longest TV show or Christmas Cartoon ever. This was one of the most popular TV shows when it was released in the year 1964. This Christmas special was narrated by Burl Ives. This is the story of Rudolph the special reindeer who had a very shiny and bright red nose. He was always set apart from all the other reindeers. But when Santa comes in search of Rudolph he becomes the hero amongst all the other reindeers and saves the Christmas and in this process also finds himself a girl!

  5. How the Grinch stole Christmas: - This was narrated by Boris Karloff and is based on a very famous book of Dr. Suess. This is a story of a Grinch who tried to steal Christmas! But this eventually does not take place! This movie too became one of the most popular Christmas movies in the year 1966.

  6. A Garfield Christmas special: - This was a movie wherein Garfield, Odie and John pack their bags and go to their relatives' place to celebrate Christmas. This movie was released in the year 1987 and went on to be a good hit! This is a very hilarious but a touching flick. After watching this movie, you too would think that the Arbuckle family is the best place to celebrate Christmas with!

  7. Mickey's Christmas Carol: - This is a movie which has the maximum types of versions to it and all are equally loved by the viewers. But there is nothing that can beat the Walt Disney production of Mickey's Christmas carol. There are many Disney characters in the movie which will make your child and you tickle. This is a movie which has a very touchy Christmas song 'oh what a merry Christmas day' which is a theme song.

  8. The little drummer boy: - This is a story of an orphan boy who hates people because he never finds love in them but his life changes when he meets three great wise men on his trip to Bethlehem! This short film was released on TV in the year 1968. It became a very big hit because of the preaching and the unique concept of the movie.
