There are some disadvantages like you have to continuously clean the falling needles, water the tree at regular intervals and do final cleanup after the festival. The fragrance of the Christmas tree is nostalgic and so many families opt for the real tree and enjoy decorating it. Once the tree is brought home, you need to make a half inch cut at the trunk. You need to have a stand with water reservoir to erect the tree. The tree has to be kept hydrated so that it does not lose its freshness and the needles do not fall down. The tree should be kept in a cool setting away from fireplaces and radiators.
Here are a few tips that will help you choose a fresh real Christmas tree:
- The tress should smell fresh
- The needles have to be green in color. There should be no brown color needles.
- Pull a branch and check whether needles fall. If they do not then go for the tree as it is fresh
- Try to bend the branches. If they are flexible then the tree is fresh, the brittleness in the branches show the tree is quite old.
