It is said, "Precaution is better than cure". We always read about fire accidents taking place during Christmas. This is not just a loss to the house but also proves to be a great loss if any of your loved one gets hurt or is injured. There are accidents where people have instances of their relatives and friends being dead because of Christmas fire. Monetary and material loss can be accepted but if life is lost then no power in the world can bring it back except the almighty god.

You must always give first priority to Christmas holiday safety as proper arrangements and planning will keep your loved ones safe. Here is a list of Christmas holiday safety tips that will help you take care of your loved ones:

  • Before you climb up the roof to string lights, make sure that you have made proper arrangements for it. Make sure that the staircase is fixed properly or ask someone to hold ladder firmly for you.
  • Many a times people forget to blow away their candles after the Christmas celebration. Check twice that after the party is over, the candles are blown away. In case, you do not want to take the risk, you can also prefer electric Christmas candles.
  • Use a long candle stand to place lighted candles. This will help the children stay away from it because you cannot always keep looking after them. Also, take care that the stand is nailed firmly.
  • When you use Christmas candles or other electric Christmas ornaments make sure that there are no curtains or any sort of cloth near. This can lead to major fire accident.
  • When you go to buy a Christmas tree, inquire how long it has been cut. Do not buy old cut trees. Their needles shed fast and can lead to fire hazard. You can check whether a tree is fresh or not by bouncing the trunk to the ground if many needles shed then the tree is cut and is kept for long time. Another easy method is to touch its trunk and see that it is sticky.
  • While fixing Christmas lights, make sure that no wire is left bare without proper plastic coating to avoid electric shocks. Use rubber slippers when you wire the lights.
  • Try to use nonflammable Christmas lights.
  • Finally, install a smoke alarm to cause major fire injuries to the people in the party.

Christmas is good when you celebrate it with all your loved ones but it is the best when you celebrate it with Christmas holiday safety. This shows your love and concern for that person.
