  1. Christmas Goose Recipe

    Goose is a traditional recipe of Germany for Christmas. In this German Christmas recipe; you can opt for a duck if you do not get a goose.

    Ingredients:

    • A life size bird (you can use a goose or duck)
    • Ninety gms. breadcrumbs
    • Sixty gms. walnuts
    • One fifty gms sausage meat
    • One fifty gms. liver
    • Thirty gms. flour
    • Two eggs
    • One tbsp. chopped parsley, sage and mint
    • Ninety gms. raisins and sultanas
    • One twenty gms. diced apples

    Method:

    • Cut the bird and clean off its wing.
    • Take a bowl and beat eggs in it.
    • Take a bowl and mix minced liver and sausage.
    • After you have done this, then add to this breadcrumbs, flour, and eggs.
    • Then add fruits and nuts.
    • Now stuff these things into the goose and apply them on top of it.
    • Make cuts on the goose so that the stuffing gets in properly.
    • Bake at least for an hour.

  2. Wine Pastries Recipe

    This German Christmas recipe is a combination of sweet pastries and wine.

    Ingredients:

    • One lemon
    • Four cups flour
    • Three cups butter
    • Two half cups sugar
    • One egg, beaten
    • Six tablespoons wine
    • coarse sugar, or chopped nuts (for garnishing)

    Method:

    • Take a bowl and squeeze out the juice from the lemon. Do not throw away the skin of lemon grate it into small pieces.
    • Now take another bowl and add to it sugar, butter, lemon skin, wine and juice. Mix this mixture and then add wine and flour in it.
    • Knead the dough and let it set for two hours.
    • Roll dough into round shapes and cut them into desired shapes.
    • Keep these pastries to set overnight.
    • Next day preheat the oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit.
    • Until the oven gets heated, apply beaten eggs on these pastries and then sprinkle with coarse sugar.
    • Now bake these pastries until they get a golden brown color.
