  • Ingredients:
    • 3 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/3 cup dark molasses
    • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup butter, softened
    • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
    • 1/2 tsp allspice
    • 1 egg
    • 2 tsp ground ginger
    • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1 tsp baking soda

  • Method:
    • Take a bowl and add in it sugar, butter and applesauce and mix well until it gets smooth.
    • Then add egg and molasses in it and blend well.
    • Prepare a mixture thick enough to form dough and then divide it into two parts.
    • Cover it in a plastic and let it chill for two hours.
    • Next pre heat the oven at 350 degrees.
    • Roll the dough and cut it in the form of gingerbread man with a cookie cutter.
    • You can use candies and raisins to garnish the gingerbread man. This will make the cookie even tastier.
    • Now bake these cookies for ten to twelve minutes.
    • Now decorate it with frosting or icing sugar.

  • Tip:
    • The butter used here in this recipe is half the amount used in the normal Christmas cookies
    • Applesauce is used to retain the moisture in them and give a soft texture.

2. Winter Fruit Salad Recipe:

This fruit salad is a good option for all those who want oil free food for Christmas. It is a light dessert and yummy to taste. This dish is healthy and delicious.

  • Ingredients
    • 2 Blood Oranges
    • 1 Yellow Grapefruit
    • 1 Pomegranate
    • 2 Star Fruit
    • 1 Pink Grapefruit
    • 2 Navel Oranges

  • Method
    • To prepare this colorful fruit salad, first cut all the fruits in the desired shape, remove all the seeds and peel off the skin.
    • Now take a bowl and arrange star fruit and orange slices.
    • Arrange them one after another in circles.
    • Now sprinkle pomegranate seeds on top of them randomly.
    • Now keep this bowl in the refrigerator to chill.
    • Remove it when you sit for dinner and please your family members.

  • Tip:
