Christmas Holly Wreaths

Christmas is the time to enjoy festivities with friends and family. Decoration is an important facet of the festival. People decorate homes and Christmas tree with ornaments, lights and wreaths. Family members gather together and complete the decoration using their creativity. Christmas celebration is incomplete without festive decoration. Many people used home-made things for decoration. Christmas is a platform to showcase your talents and get appreciated for your skills. Traditionally, wreaths are part of Christmas decoration. Christmas wreaths are of various types. They are hanged on the door, at the entrance, on the wall and Christmas tree.

Christmas wreaths are available in both natural and artificial types. They can be created at home or bought from local market and shopping malls. These wreaths are available in various colors, shapes and designs. The wreaths are made out of foliage, flowers, silk and so on. There are evergreen wreaths made out of hollies and mistletoe twigs. These wreaths are green in color. Christmas holly wreaths are prepared with branches of holly twigs and red berries. It is a traditional wreath that is hanged at the entrance of the home during Christmas. Holly Christmas wreath has religious significance as it stands for eternity just as God.

Let us look at the method of preparing Christmas holly wreaths:

• Collect a bunch of holly twigs that are at least six inch long. Make sure that the twigs are fresh and have red berries on it.

• Take a wire wreath frame of the shape you want. Circular shape is the traditional shape of the holly wreath.

• The wreath frame should have a loop on the top side so that it can be hanged on the door, at the entrance or on the wall.

• Take few evergreen branches of holly in a bunch. All the stems should be on one side.

• The branch that has red berries should be placed at the top side of the bunch.

• Place the bunch on floral wire, which is attached to wreath frame.

• Now, you need to tie the bunch to wreath frame with a floral wire. Tighten the wire and leave the end

• After, the one is done, place bunches of holly twigs at regular intervals on wreathe frame and tie them tightly with floral wire.

• Make sure that the frame is not seen through human eye. Add foliage evenly on the frame and tightly knot the loose ends of wire.

• Once that is done, cut the extra wire and prune the twigs to give it a specific shape.

• The Christmas holly wreath is ready to be hanged as a decorative piece.
